Sembcorp Bournemouth Water finds the ideal means of measuring the lowest of flows with the H5000

Sembcorp Bournemouth Water needed to measure low-flow leakage at night time in Bournemouth’s smaller district metering areas (DMA) or per capita consumption areas (PCCs). It soon became clear that the level of accuracy from combination meters was not high enough to give precise readings of such low levels of flow.

Low-flow leakage was slipping under the radar, with night time levels just too low to be recorded. Meters repeatedly gave zero flow readings, indicating that they were shutting off at low levels and failing to show the whole picture. The company needed greater precision. It was a commercial and environmental priority to find a way to accurately measure these low flows in PCCs so that Sembcorp could assess where it needed to concentrate its resources.
