RAT FGS serial coupling

Depending on the requirements the injection of ripple control signals generated by the transmitter may either be done by parallel coupling or by serial coupling. The serial coupling is a proven technology to inject especially ripple control frequencies between 160 Hz and 230 Hz.

The inductivities of the RAT transformer and of the superimposed network are in series with the prevailing network load. The RAT transformer is a single phase unit casting resin insulated and suitable for indoor as well as outdoor placement. In three-phase networks the 3 required RAT injection transformers are delta connected at transmitter side.

The use of feeding transformers means that there is no need for expensive 50Hz resonance circuits used at transmitter side for creation of short circuits. Thus only capacitors are required to compensate the audio-frequency magnetization current.
